Image Treadmill

The Image treadmill is manufactured by Icon Health and Fitness, a well known fitness equipment company. Icon Health and Fitness have been manufacturing treadmills and other fitness machines for several years.

Icon Health and Fitness actually produce several brands including Healthrider, Weslo and Proform. Also the company holds licenses to the popular Reebok and Golds Gym brands. In light of these evidentially top quality examples, the Image treadmill, I have to say, is the worst of all these other brands of treadmills made by the Icon Health and Fitness Company.

There is definitely a place for the Image treadmill line from Icon. It’s just that if you plan to spend your hard earned money on a treadmill that you expect to last for several years, you would do better spending it elsewhere. If you simply must have a treadmill and are on a budget, then by all means, go for the Image treadmill. It’s got several popular features, and is not a bad treadmill.

With most treadmills ranging between $350 to $1800, chances are that a $450 treadmill isn’t going to be the one that lasts ten or twenty years. It is very likely that lacking longevity is the reason that the Image line of treadmills is the least popular line made by the Icon company.

Another detail that makes quality-conscious consumers wary is the fact that the Image treadmill warranty is only good for ninety days. Most treadmills have warranties of at least six months if not a year or more. This certainly makes it appear as though the company doesn’t expect the units to last very long.

Among the advantages of owning an Image treadmill are the nice features like a heart rate monitor and extra impact absorption materials. Image treadmills will get the job done, are sturdy enough and relative inexpensive.

The disadvantages include a very limited warranty and low price that together lead me to believe that Image treadmills are not intended to be long life machines. It is also the least popular brand of all the Icon treadmills, so it is safe to assume that customer experience backs up the evidence pointing to a short life span for these fitness machines.

Among the various treadmill review sites that I have perused, they all seem to agree on a few distinct points about the Image treadmill line. You can’t expect them to run for very long without having some kind of problem, but if you’re on a tight budget, they’re fairly sound treadmills with ample features and ease of use.

Keeping all this in mind, if you do opt for an Image treadmill, many different fitness experts and health professionals seem to agree that the Image 10.0 treadmill is the best of the Image bunch. But don’t take my word for it, go and try one out for yourself. Besides finding out about durability of potential treadmills, it is also important to see how you will feel on the treadmill you end up bringing home.
