True Treadmill

The True treadmill company was started in the early 1980s by the Trulaske brothers and is known for their incredibly smooth and quiet operation as well as their comfortable and soft feel. However, the True treadmill line is typically known for being big on pushing selling points while not offering the quality to back the prices they ask.

In fact, one of the best attributes of the True Fitness company is the power and mastery of their marketing department. To be able to sell the number of crappy treadmills that this company has is truly an amazing feat. If you can get a True treadmill for less than $400-$500, then it’s not a rip off.

That being said, they’re not terrible treadmills, just not as great as their price and many treadmill reviewers seem to think. When you consider that their least expensive treadmill starts at $2,999.00 and their most expensive starts at nearly $6,000, you can see why I think it such a travesty that such lacking treadmills are touted as being these great machines.

While True uses decent components in their machines, their belt and deck combinations are simply the best in the treadmill business. The fittings are exactly matched and you can see and feel the difference in this level of dedication to design. The only problem is that the other parts don’t really add up to the asking price for many consumers. You’ll have to be the judge for yourself.

All the treadmill reviews and consumer reports in the world aren’t gong to tell you how you’ll fell on the machine yourself, or how you’ll like the machine after several months of use, but there are some things you can do to get a feel for how much you’ll like a given treadmill.

For one thing, before you buy a treadmill, use it. Get on it and walk or run for at least twenty or thirty minutes before committing to a purchase. This is really the only way you’re going to be able to see how it feels once the initial freshness of a workout wears off. Most incompatibility problems will take longer than five or ten minutes to appear.

True’s ability to continuously get the kind of money they’re asking for their treadmills is a sign that they will be around for a while to continue to offer customer support and maintenance as well as replacement parts to their customers. This is always a good thing to look for in a treadmill company if you’re really serious about choosing a treadmill that will be around for a long time to come.
